I absolutely loved Strong Side and this being the next book in the series is perfect. I love that there are problems and that it wasn't all just good from the start.
We met one of the MC's, Dante in Strong Side. He is a LB and is Jason's best friend. Of course when the book starts Dante thinks he's straight. He soon realizes that's not as true as he thought it was when he meets Mitch. Mitch is also a LB, and is also 6'3" just like Dante. When Mitch "messes up" a play in practice Dante gets pissed, mainly because Mitch is his only real competition for a starting spot.
That starts them off to be rivals for a bit, then turns to friends and then a bit more than friends. When they finally feel like they are on steady ground drama ensues when Dante goes home with Mitch for Christmas. When he realizes they are even farther apart than he thought, and that most of Mitch's family is poison he does what he thinks is best. That doesn't mean that it is.
Also like the first book there isn't a lot of sex which is big thing for me, I don't like when authors add unnecessary sex scene and this is one of those that just lets the story be told. There are a few sex scenes, and they are necessary to show the development of the relationship between the MC's.
This is definitely a must read. It can be read as a standalone but the first book is great as well and I recommend both.
