Strong Side by Alison Hendricks

This is a great book, and a great first book by this author.

I really liked the fact that the author kind of switched the roles of who was okay to let everyone know the MCs are together. That is something that I hadn't really seen yet all of the books that I have read the one that knows he is gay is usually the one pushing for them to be out and open, but this is very refreshing.

Granted I understood the reluctance of Derek, with having gotten hurt in HS because of being gay, with his teammates finding out that he is gay. I really liked the dynamic between Jason and Derek and that Derek was patient with Jason and didn't just try to push everything at once.

Even with the MCs being in college there really isn't a lot of sex scenes in the book which I also really liked. There is a real storyline and not just the two MCs getting together and sex all the time. Especially since their teammates don't know till after the halfway point that they are even together. For me I like books that aren't all about the sex and more about the characters.

I could not put this book down. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to get into reading M/M or anyone that likes a good storyline with a little bit of sex thrown in.
