This book was a little different than what I normally read, but decided that it sounded good so I gave it a try. This book was a bit slow at first, it took me a while to really get in to reading it but once I did I really liked it. There are some up and downs in this book but its all worth it for the characters in the end.
** Contains Spoilers Below**
Ian Carsdon is one of the youngest professors to be hired at the college where he works.
Ian seems to have a crush on two of his students... one female, one male though he doesn't believe that he is gay. Ian was abused as a child and that has led to him not being able to be satisfied without having to go to a Dom to beat it out of him, and he can't even do that sober. Little does he know that the male student that he is attracted to follows him to the BDSM club where he is a member.
Raphia is just the Dom that Ian didn't know he wanted or needed to help him overcome life's obstacles.
When Ian learns the truth about his childhood abuse, and that his abuser was being abused by two different people he struggles with the fact that his brother saved him from a lifetime of agony. When he tries to get justice for himself and his brother he is badly beaten by a bunch of rugby players.
Will Ian finally be able to see that being gay isn't bad at all, since in actuality it's the best thing that has happened to him? You will just have to read to find out.
Not a book I would recommend to start out reading M/M but a good book to read if you like angst.
** Warning** there are gay slurs used, some BDSM, childhood abuse, and a watersports scene.
